Every year we like to bring you a variety of speakers from local businesses to inform, educate and inspire you. This year we have speakers who will update you on key changes that businesses are facing, bring you tips on developing and growing your business and share with you how they have overcome challenges that they have faced.

Rachael Wall is a successful McTimoney Chiropractor who has been in practise since 2001. She co-runs The Lotus Centre a complementary healthcare practise in Bourne End with her partner Lorna Kennard. Together they went on to set up Sittingwell Ltd in 2011, this was born out of hearing the frustrations of patients with knowing what were the right products to buy to help their back pain and hearing about the common culprits that caused back pain too – often the sofa. This lead to them designing and developing the first back care product of its kind for the sofa – The Sittingwell cushion. Having graduated at a McTimoney Chiropractor in 2001 Rachael thought that was her career until retirement. All she had wanted to be was a Chiropractor since her early teens. After all a job is for life. Isn’t it? Fast forward 16 years she and Lorna Kennard run a successful ecommerce site that sells back care products globally and provides expert advice for staying pain free. She has also invented and brought to market a back support that looks just like any other cushion on your sofa – the first of its kind. All whilst continuing to treat patients in clinic, zero bank funding and no previous experience in retail, marketing, product development or frankly anything at all outside of being a Chiropractor. Just ambition, focus, a vision and papier mache……The perfect recipe for success! Needless to say there has been a lot of ‘learning’ along the way, which she will share with you in the up and down journey that goes alongside business development and ultimately growth and success.
